Total War Saga: FALL OF THE SAMURAI - Japan is emerging from the era of swords: the country is experiencing an industrial turn, and with it come guns, rifles and railways. The events take place four hundred years after the previous part of the story, and the balance of power there is completely different. The war is between supporters of the emperor and the shogunate, and foreign powers are joining in, each with their own interests. The player chooses a side and leads a campaign across a map where battles, diplomacy, supplies and order in the provinces are important. Provinces have to be conquered and maintained: order is restored by troops, and the discontent of the inhabitants grows from ruin. Tactics have changed: infantry with rifles, artillery and navy with battleships decide much more than cavalry. Samurai with swords are still in the ranks, but their time is running out, and without modern weapons victory cannot be achieved. Naval battles are placed in a separate mode, and generals and agents are engaged in reconnaissance, sabotage and bribery. The development of technology opens up new units, and with each chapter of the war the army looks less and less like the previous one. The fleet plays a big role: they fire at coastal fortifications from the sea and land troops, and steamships with guns decide the outcome of the confrontation on the water. Agents set fire to warehouses, disrupt negotiations and remove inconvenient enemy generals. Foreign powers sell weapons and ships, but in return they demand concessions, and the price rises every year. Anyone who loves strategies about turning points, where old weapons are still in use, and new ones are already firing.
