The Backrooms: Survival

The Backrooms: Survival - the hero finds himself in yellow rooms where there are no windows or clear layout, and with each transition the space changes. You have to look for a way out, count resources and stay away from creatures that are best not to be awakened. The levels are generated randomly, so knowing the map doesn't help much: familiar corridors suddenly end in a blank wall, and a new hole in the floor appears around the corner. Survival is based on supplies - water, food, batteries and medicines are used up quickly. Supplies are limited by weight, so the backpack has to be unloaded before descending to a new level, and the excess left in hiding places. In addition to external threats, there are also internal ones. Long wanderings in the dark and encounters with inhabitants of liminal spaces put pressure on the psyche, and you have to monitor the hero’s condition no less than his health. Finding a safe place is not always possible, and a short break does not guarantee that no one is nearby. The game is designed for single playthrough with a first-person view and keeps you in suspense due to silence and sounds. Some people go through it quickly, while others put it off after the first level. The levels change into themed areas: warehouses, corridors with pipes, pools of water and endless rooms with lamps. Each descent gives you a chance to find a rare item, but also increases the chance of encountering something that is better not to disturb. The exit does not open immediately, but only after keys or wires are found, and sometimes the path is blocked by rubble, which has to be dismantled manually. Anyone who is ready for a slow horror adventure with no room for error and a constant shortage of supplies.
