SILENT HILL 2 Remake

SILENT HILL 2 Remake is a reimagining of the cult survival horror game, for which the Unreal Engine 5. engine was used. Thanks to this, the graphics have become noticeably better, and the fog has acquired volume. The streets and buildings are recognizable from the previous shots, although the layout has become freer for exploration. The city is almost empty, but the silence is deceptive: there is someone in the entrances and basements. The main character James Sunderland receives a letter from his wife, who died several years ago, and goes to the city where they were once happy. On the spot, he finds empty streets and creatures that move incorrectly. Puzzles are scattered across locations, and solutions range from obvious to completely confusing. The radio and recordings tell you where to go next, and the map marks important points. The battles have become closer to modern ones: aiming, dodging and hitting with a pipe require attention, and you have to save your ammo. The camera rotates freely, but the tightness of the corridors maintains tension. Opponents react to light and sound, so it is better to start a fight from a prepared position. Escape from a pursuer requires endurance and knowledge of the layout. The puzzles have been reworked, but the plot remains the same, including multiple endings and special conditions for them. Supplies are limited, and even ordinary first aid kits have to be found in secluded places. Story scenes have become longer, and there are more details about the hero's relationships. For those who like slow horror and psychology, this city is suitable. The voice acting and music have been reworked, and the setting has become denser due to the details.
