RTL Biathlon 2008

RTL Biathlon 2008 is a biathlon simulator from a series of winter sports games dedicated to the competitions of that period. Here you have to combine two different skills: endurance on the ski track and composure on the shooting range. A fast move does not help if you shoot wide, and a slow race does not allow you to make up for penalty laps. The races take place on snow-covered tracks in Europe, and each has its own characteristics: in some places there are long climbs, in others there are treacherous descents. Weather and snow conditions affect gliding, so tactics for the race have to be selected taking into account the conditions, and not just give your best from the first meter. In addition to single competitions, there are relay races and mass starts, where the competition takes place in a tight group. Shooting from a prone and standing position requires a different approach, and misses are punished by penalty circles that you need to reel in alone, wasting time. It is also worth noting that the races take place at different times of the day and in different weather conditions, which is why the same route is covered in a new way. The interface tells you your firing status and fatigue, helping you calculate your strength. For a niche winter simulator, this was done thoroughly. Difficulty settings allow you to either fight for prizes, or just ride along the track without pressure. The game is made for winter sports fans and doesn't try to be anything more. For those who enjoy biathlon, this is an opportunity to do a few races and get a feel for how challenging this discipline is.
