Murdered: Soul Suspect

Murdered: Soul Suspect is a detective story about a man who dies in an alley and continues the investigation as a ghost. He deals with his own death himself, because no one else has taken up this matter except him. The city of Salem lives with the memory of witches, and it is full of places where the living do not notice anything. The ghost passes through walls, reads thoughts and possesses passers-by so that they open the necessary doors for him. There is a price to pay for this: every intervention echoes in whispers around. Evidence is collected bit by bit: recordings, traces, snippets of conversations. Some souls are stuck between worlds and they need help to get a clue. Demons get in the way and attack in narrow places, so sometimes it's better to pass by. The story is told quietly, without shouting, and is based on details. The duration is moderate, and the plot moves towards a conclusion without unnecessary digressions. In addition to the main line, small cases are scattered around the city: you can complete them or skip them, and this has almost no effect on the ending. Some places are closed until new abilities are obtained, so old areas are worth visiting again. The design is done in gray tones, and the sound is based on whispers and creaks. The save is done automatically, and the map tells you where unfinished cases remain. The passage takes several evenings, and after the finale a summary of the evidence found opens. Demons do not constantly pursue the hero, but in narrow corridors you have to avoid them. Some of the evidence lies in houses where entry is open only after a tenant has moved in. It’s worth mentioning separately about the atmosphere: the city lives its own life, and the ghost watches it from the side. Anyone who likes quiet ghost stories will find this game perfect.
