Return of the Obra Dinn

Return of the Obra Dinn is a story about a ship that returns to port without a single living person on board. The cargo is lost, a delay is recorded, and the insurance inspector has to figure out what happened. The inspector receives a list of people from the ship and must note each: name, cause of death and culprit. It is impossible to make mistakes, because the check only accepts a completely correct set. To help, they give out a device that allows you to return to the last moments of the lives of the dead. Each such scene is a frozen frame with sound and a snippet of conversation from which facts need to be extracted. Scenes show the moment of death and the sounds heard at that moment, and sometimes something important happens in the background. You have to compare the form, language and place in the crowd. The task is to establish the fate of each crew member: who died, under what circumstances and by whose hands. Guesses are confirmed only after the correct set of three names, so guessing is pointless. Part of the fate is connected with the cargo and the mystery that caused the ship to leave the port in the first place. The more we know, the clearer the overall picture becomes. The graphics are made in two colors, and the music adds gloom. The interface looks like a ship's log, and the design is made in two colors with characteristic shading. This style emphasizes the dark mood of the story. Anyone who loves logic puzzles and sea stories will find this investigation suitable. The project received recognition for its honest detective mechanics and for the fact that the solution depends only on the player.
