Football Generation is an arcade football simulator that focuses on flexibility of settings. Here you can change literally everything: the level of difficulty, the behavior of the referee, the severity of the rules and even the duration of the match. If you want a quick five-minute match with a liberal referee, go ahead, but you can set everything up like an adult and get fair, tough football. The game features major tournaments, including the World Cup, Champions League and UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, and in addition to ready-made competitions, a constructor is available: your own tournament is assembled for a specific company and mood. This is convenient for get-togethers when you want to arrange a small championship for the evening. The matches are played at a brisk pace, and the controls are clear from the first minutes: passing, crossing, shooting and tackling are simple, but the result depends on how correctly you move the ball. It’s fun to play against the computer due to the adjustable difficulty, and against friends because of the speed and simplicity. It is also worth noting that the game has many difficulty levels and opponent difficulty settings, so the match can be tailored to any player. The comments and sound from the stands contribute to the atmosphere, and the coaching tips during the break help you understand what needs to be changed. For an evening with friends, this is an easy way to have a mini-championship. The project is also known under another name: in Russian localization it was released as “Football 2003”. Today it’s retro, but for those who saw the era of arcade football on computers, this name itself is a reason to remember the evening at the keyboard.
