Metaphor: ReFantazio

Metaphor: ReFantazio - the kingdom is engulfed in a struggle for the empty throne, and the hero sets off on a journey with the fairy Gallica to lift the curse from the prince and at the same time figure out why the country loves to hate strangers so much. There is a tournament ahead at which the fate of the crown is decided, and participation in it goes far beyond a simple show of strength. The main mechanics are archetypes. These are sets of skills that can be changed on the fly, turning the hero from a warrior into a magician, storyteller or healer, and companions can choose their roles. Combinations are not given immediately: some archetypes are revealed through friendship, others - through special requests from residents. Battles take place step-by-step, but do not keep you waiting: the squad clears out weak little things directly on the map without going to a separate window, and serious battles require calculation of weaknesses, the order of moves and the supply of restorative items. A lost battle sets you back, so they take time to prepare. The world consists of large areas connected by a map: cities with reception areas, bustling markets, abandoned dungeons and shrines with challenges. Along the way, choices arise that affect relationships with fellow travelers, and free days are spent on conversations, orders, and leveling up skills. The dungeons are arranged in layers: the descent requires preparation, and resources for the trip are always scarce, so the decision to go deeper or return later is made deliberately. Companion support depends on relationships - the more time devoted to them on free days, the more useful their skills are in battle.
