FIFA 17

FIFA 17 was remembered for two important events at once: the series finally moved to the Frostbite engine, and a story mode “The Journey” appeared in it. Together with Alex Hunter, a young guy dreaming of a professional contract, the player for the first time went from the sports courts to the big stadium, with training, locker room conversations and the decision to listen to an agent or a coach. The list of national teams has changed: the New Zealand team was removed from the game, 47 national teams remained, of which 27 are fully licensed - the composition and surnames are real, but the uniforms and emblems had to be replaced. The Japanese J-League made its debut: all 18 clubs received real squads and symbols, and with them the atmosphere of eastern football. There is more physics on the field. Free kicks and penalties have been redesigned: now they approach the ball as they do in life, and the force and trajectory depend on the run-up and point of impact. We added new ways to handle passes and kicks in a fall, which means familiar combinations had to be relearned. The plot of “Journey” is structured like a small drama: the hero has to choose between the advice of his agent, coach and friends, and the decisions determine where he will end up in the next season and whether he will receive a call to the national team. Managers in the locker room talk to you as if you were a real person, and a rude answer can block your way into the squad. Between story episodes, you can still play regular matches in any mode and your progress will be saved. A nice touch was the presence of real Premier League coaches on the touchline - their recognizable figures added authenticity to the matches. The renovation also included new home arenas, including West Ham's London Stadium. The FIFA 17 is where the series began to look and sound new, and it remains a favorite for many.
