NHL 09 + RHL 13

NHL 09 + RHL 13 - this collection is an interesting hybrid of the official game and popular modification. The basis is NHL 09 from EA Sports, one of the most beloved parts of the series by fans: it introduced season and dynasty modes, where the club lives for a whole year, as well as “Be A Pro”, which allows you to start the journey of one player and take him from juniors to league stars. Newspaper headlines, letters from management and transfers and exchanges turned a routine table into a real soap opera. The addition of RHL 13 (РХЛ 13) is a completely different story. This is a Russian modification that expands the source code into a full-fledged domestic championship: clubs, rosters, forms, comments and design. Such a union gives two games in one: Western viewers get familiar arenas and familiar stars, and KHL fans get the opportunity to see their favorite team through the season in a familiar setting. A special pleasure is the managerial part. In a dynasty, you can manage not only the roster, but also the budget, youth training, and the mood in the locker room. Poor results lead to dismissals, a protracted crisis destroys the team from the inside, and even the venerable age of the graphics does not get rid of this feeling of a live club. It’s worth considering that this is a fan-made build: sometimes you have to tinker with the settings and version of the game to make everything work, but the result is worth it. Playing with two people on one computer goes great here, and the controls are clear even to those who haven’t picked up a gamepad for a long time. Russian commentary, clubs and design add an atmosphere that was impossible to find in the official publications of the series. The collection will be appreciated primarily by those who miss the era when hockey simulators required not only reflexes, but also the ability to count money and look for young people in all leagues. There is plenty of that here.
