Escape the Backrooms

Escape the Backrooms is an atmospheric horror game with four-player co-op. A group of people find themselves in a huge and strange room, from where it is not so easy to find a way out. The atmosphere is based on sound: the hum of ventilation, steps on the carpet and other people's voices create the feeling that there is someone behind the wall. Communication is via voice chat: without coordination of actions, the team scatters along the corridors and gets lost. You have to navigate by signs, because the usual logic does not work here. Orientation requires attention: identical rooms are confusing, and notes on the walls sometimes serve as the only clue. A flashlight helps, but attracts creatures, so in dark rooms you have to choose between safety and visibility. Experienced teams distribute roles: one goes first, the second watches the rear. Each outing turns into a separate story, which is then retold to friends. The levels differ in design: somewhere there are endless yellow rooms, somewhere there are flooded halls and dark passages. The creatures living in these places react to light, noise and movement. A separate task is not to panic: a map, a flashlight and a general agreement save more often than fast legs. Mysteries are hidden in the environment, and rare clues have to be looked for carefully. Levels sometimes change on the fly, so the map compiled by the team quickly becomes outdated. Survival rewards and open rooms give you a reason to tackle a familiar area differently. For those who like to be scared in company and want to feel the creepy corridors, this walk is suitable.
