Wargame: European Escalation

The Wargame: European Escalation brings real-time strategy to the Cold War. Eight powers of two camps are converging for dominance over Europe: France, Great Britain, Germany and the USA are in favor of NATO, and the Warsaw Pact countries are the USSR, Poland, the Czech Republic and the GDR. A single-player campaign with several storylines serves more as an introductory course - it teaches the basics of army management, while the real depth of the project is revealed in online battles. The army is selected according to national specifics: each bloc has its own soldiers and vehicles - up to the Polish “thirty-four” or the Czech motostrelci infantry. Before the battle, the player assembles a deck of 25 units: at the start only the simplest military units are open, and unique equipment and units are unlocked for victories in online games, points scored and progress in the single-player campaign. In team battles, coordination is key: the roles of attacker and defender are distributed in advance, and a deck that is properly balanced taking into account the strengths of an ally usually brings victory.
