The Scroll Of Taiwu is a turn-based role-playing sandbox about an ancient evil called Xiangshu, which corrupts people's minds and once almost destroyed the world. The heroes here are not loners, but the heirs of Taiu, who wield the Holy Sword and are obliged to stop this threat. The world lives its own life: other masters and schools act on their own, grow, conflict and make enemies. The player not only has to fight, but also build a reputation, learn other people's techniques and form alliances. Leveling up does not happen through abstract levels, but through studying techniques that can be obtained from rivals. Battles are turn-based, with an eye to distance and elements; technique is more important than brute force. In addition to battles, there are chores, relationships with characters, and many side stories collected in text form. Separately, it is worth noting that inheritance works here: if the hero dies, his descendants continue the work, and the accumulated knowledge and connections pass to them. This turns the passage into a long family chronicle, where what is more important is not one successful battle, but the fate of the family. In addition to combat, there is relationship management, assistant training, and involvement in local schools. It is also worth noting that there is a lot of text in the game: descriptions of events, meetings and decisions are presented as entries in a chronicle. Some may find it dry, but others just like this shape. The project is large and unhurried, with an abundance of text, but this is precisely what makes it interesting: The Scroll Of Taiwu does not look like an action movie, but like a chronicle of the life of an entire region, where every decision you make is reverberated years later.
