The Exorcist's Story is a 2D horror adventure where the player becomes the young priest Antonio. He already had experience conducting banishing rites, but one day everything went wrong: a girl died during the ritual. Antonio escaped prison, but promised himself not to take on such a thing again - until the past reminded itself of itself. The game is built on exploration and dialogue: you need to move around locations, talk to people, collect parts and gradually understand what is happening around you. Decisions in conversations influence the development of events, and gloomy art and muted music work to create a sense of invisible threat. In addition to the storyline, there are riddles and moments of tension where it is important not to make mistakes. The duration is short, but the story is presented as a whole, without unnecessary branches, and by the end a picture of what happened is formed. It’s also worth noting that the game has a save system at key points, so you don’t have to go through unsuccessful episodes again. The dark palette and sounds heighten the tension, and the dialogue reveals the hero's past. For indie horror, this is enough. The project was made by a small team and stands out for its atmosphere, not its scale. For those who like short dark stories with mysticism, the The Exorcist's Story is suitable for one or two evenings.
