Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem sends "Cool" Sam Stone into the Russian wasteland, where Mental's powers have resurfaced. This is an independent addition to the series: short in format, but dense in the number of enemies. The development was carried out by a separate studio under the leadership of Croteam, so they came up with their own ideas - from weapons to level structure. The basis is the same: hordes of enemies come from all sides, and the player fights back by rolling between walls of fire. The arsenal has been replenished with new items, and some locations allow the use of equipment and vehicles, which will diversify the usual shootouts. The level design has become freer: in some places you can go directly, but in others it’s better to go around and collect supplies. The weather and environment also contribute to the atmosphere: snow storms and night episodes change the perception of the battle, and sometimes you even want to look at the local views between fights. In addition to the campaign, there is a co-op, where together you can fight off especially dense waves of opponents. Separately, it is worth noting that the campaign is short but dense: long sections are interspersed with large arenas with waves of opponents. The humor and absurd situations have not gone away, and Sam's voice still comments on what is happening with his trademark irony. For those who want a fast and noisy shooter, this is the right option. For fans of the series, this is a good reason to return: a long campaign is not needed here, but the constant pressure and humor have not gone away. For those who like fast shooters without cover or pause, the Siberian Mayhem is ideal.
