The Starfield opens up a new Bethesda universe after the studio's quarter-century hiatus from the space theme. In 2330, humanity has spread across the stars, and the player joins an organization of researchers searching for unusual artifacts. In addition to the plot, there are factions with tasks and their own views on the future of humanity. The role-playing system is built on skills and background: the origin of the hero affects the available lines and starting skills. The ship is assembled in modules, and flights between systems are interspersed with landings on planets with different conditions. Spacesuits and weapons vary in rarity, and their modifications are assembled by hand from found parts. Inventory is limited by weight, which is why you only take with you what you need. There are hundreds of planets, and almost every one has something to do: bases, mines, pirates, anomalies and finds. Some build outposts, some collect weapons and spacesuits, and some go away from the main line for dozens of hours. Flights between systems are accompanied by skirmishes with pirates, and landing sites have to be cleared. The construction of outposts allows you to extract resources even at a distance. Companions with their own personalities and tasks help: they comment on actions and sometimes ask for personal favors. Modifications and updates added vehicles, maps and balance changes. The modifications came out solid: cities, ships and interface changes were added, as well as ground transport. For everyone who dreams of their own planet and an expedition to the unknown, this sandbox gives wide scope.
