The Room

The Room is an indie project in the mystical puzzle genre, which began a whole series of sequels. Here you can see how it all began and what has changed since. The situation suggests that the owner of the house was engaged in science: there are books, instruments and strange drawings around. Hints for each section are given gradually, and some of the levers are hidden. The passage comes down to studying a secret box: you need to turn it, disassemble it and discover hidden mechanisms. Patience and observation are more important than speed. The box opens in parts, and each subsequent section is more complex than the previous one. The rotation and tilt of the device is determined by the movement of the mouse or finger. Tools are provided along the way: a magnifying glass, special glass and other devices allow you to examine details invisible to the eye. It gradually becomes clear that the box contains much more than it seems. The hints are presented unobtrusively, so the guess usually comes on its own, without peeking. Some sections open only after careful inspection of the details. The atmosphere is built on sound and light, and each open section reveals part of the story about the previous owner. The controls are designed for touch screens, but the game has also been released on other platforms. The series continued in several parts, and the mechanics developed along with them. Later parts of the series added separate rooms and a story. For those who love neat puzzles and mysterious finds, this box is perfect. The first game was released on mobile devices and was later ported to larger platforms.
