Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth part of the survival horror series, the name of which is stylized as Re9uiem, emphasizing its place in the chronology. The story continues the Village line and at the same time begins a new chapter of the franchise. The game continues the tradition of the series: limited resources, cramped corridors and opponents who are better off staying out of sight. The main character is FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of journalist Alyssa Ashcroft, an acquaintance from Resident Evil: Outbreak. She takes on the investigation of a series of mysterious deaths attributed to a strange disease, and the case confronts her with her personal past. The investigation is conducted through documents, recordings and conversations, and some of the details are revealed by repeated inspection of the places. The investigation leads the heroine to a hotel in Raccoon City, where her mother died eight years before the events of the game. The player will have to go through the ruins of a destroyed metropolis, which has not been seen in the series for many years. Horror is built on sound and light: footsteps, creaks and sudden silence work here just as well as monsters. Some scenes require patience and attention. Although the remains of a police station are visible, the town itself is not the main setting. The atmosphere of pressure and lack of resources remains typical, and the routes will have to be studied carefully. For fans of the series, here are references to past parts and answers to long-standing questions. The situation is oppressive with constant tension: there are few resources, and it is better not to look for a way out of the hotel room in the dark. The atmosphere of a destroyed city takes the series back to its roots. For those who have been following the series since the first parts, this issue promises important answers.
