Project Castaway

Project Castaway is a survival simulator where the hero finds himself on a desert island after a cruise ship accident. The space around is the huge Pacific Ocean with islands and debris. The cruise ship crashes, and the hero comes to his senses on the shore. It is better to spend the first nights under a canopy than in a cave. A fire and shelter help survive the cold. You have to start with water, food and a simple tool, and then build a shelter and a boat. Resources are mined manually, so part of the time is spent searching for materials and repairs. Water, food and warmth are the first tasks, and tools are collected from what is found. Crafting requires the placement of stations, so the base grows gradually. You can travel between the islands by raft or ship, discovering new shores and finds. Some of the objects tell us what happened to the ship, and the local nature lives by its own rules. Rafts and boats open up new islands, and the map gradually fills up. On the islands you come across boxes of supplies and notes. Dangers are also associated with nature: heat, hunger and disease affect the hero’s condition. Updates add islands and crafts. The weather changes and storms break shelters. Sometimes it is more profitable to wait out the storm in shelter than to sail further. The roof has to be patched after every storm. For those who like to build and survive, this latitude is suitable. Updates add animals, crafts and buildings. The game is designed for long sessions, because progress is slow. Some discoveries open up new recipes.
