Scrap Mechanic is an engineering sandbox where the main activity is assembling mechanisms with friends. The world revolves around a mechanic who maintains robots on an agricultural planet and makes sure that the equipment works properly. Basic parts allow you to make almost anything: a cart with a motor, an airplane made of wings and sticks, or a walking platform. The accuracy of control depends on how carefully the mechanism is assembled. Creative mode produces parts without limits: wheels, pistons, engines, sensors and controllers are connected to machines of any kind. This produces both intelligent mechanisms and completely meaningless structures that drive, fly or jump. Survival introduces robot-like enemies that require traps, turrets, and vehicles to defeat. Some materials are mined in mines and landfills, and rare parts are found in boxes. The survival mode adds enemies and resource extraction: the collected equipment is no longer needed for beauty, but for protecting the base and traveling for materials. Some of the mechanisms have to be improved because the old machine cannot withstand the new conditions. The workshop allows you to download other people's inventions and disassemble them piece by piece to understand the device. Joint construction projects with friends quickly turn into a competition of ideas. The workshop is filled with community work, ranging from cars to automatic factories.
