Oxygen Not Included

Oxygen Not Included is a colony simulator where the main task comes down to food, water, oxygen and the happiness of the duplicants. Residents settled in different parts of space, and some of them settled on asteroids. The colony starts with a few inhabitants and a cramped closet, but the asteroid's map is large and full of unknowns. Digging tunnels quickly turns into exploration of neighboring biomes. Management starts with tunneling and installing beds, and quickly moves into engineering: pipes, pumps, generators and cooling systems. Each new building requires calculation, otherwise the colony will suffocate, freeze or drown in waste. Duplicants are not perfect: some are afraid of the dark, others do not know how to cook, and others panic when stressed. But everyone has inclinations, and the distribution of responsibilities affects the life of the base no less than the equipment. Work is distributed according to priorities: first air and water, then food and rest, and then comfort and research. Engineering requires understanding the basics: pressure, temperature, and electricity behave as they do in reality. Some problems can be easily solved, but finding this solution is not immediately possible. The map consists of biomes with different conditions, and research unlocks increasingly complex technologies. Errors are not immediately visible: lack of oxygen or overheating make themselves felt after dozens of cycles. Sometimes one mistake in planning is enough for the system to go out of balance: the pipes become clogged, the water boils, and the colony dies from suffocation. Watching this is offensive and instructive at the same time. For those players who like to plan and fix their own engineering, this asteroid provides long hours.
