Major League Baseball 2K12

Major League Baseball 2K12 is part of the baseball series, in which the developers focused on throwing and batting control. The pitcher chooses the type of pitch and the point of impact, and the batter must guess the moment and direction so that the ball does not go into the defender's glove. It takes a long time to master, but this is where the beauty of baseball lies. In addition to regular matches, there is long-term club management: the draft, trades, injuries, player development and working with the budget. The career of one athlete is a separate issue, where you have to make your way into the lineup and keep track of statistics - in this genre, personal achievements matter no less than team achievements. The game's particular fame was associated with a competition where it was required to play a perfect game without missing a hit against a strong pitcher. A task like this really shows the level of complexity and attention to detail that goes into the project. Separately, it is worth noting the pitching system: the types of throws and their accuracy depend on the characteristics of the pitcher and his fatigue, and substitution on the mound is a separate tactical task for the coach. Season statistics have been accumulated for years, which makes the game especially interesting for numbers lovers. You can skip entire matches if you only want to deal with management. The pitching, commentary and graphics are on par with a licensed sports simulator, and for baseball fans this is one of the most in-depth games of the period. Outside the United States, few people know the genre, but for those who understand it, it provides a serious challenge.
