Lies Of P is an action game set in the backdrop of a dark fairy tale, where the story of Pinocchio is retold in the genre of “dark” role-playing action films. The action takes place in the city of Krat, which was once famous for puppetry, but has now turned into a labyrinth gripped by madness. The main character is a doll searching for its creator and trying to understand what makes the creature human. Combat requires precision: blocking, parrying and dodging work differently against each opponent, and mistakes are punished almost instantly. The weapon here is assembled from parts - the blade is from one sample, the handle from another, and both the speed of strikes and the set of techniques depend on this. Additionally, in combat, a mechanical arm is used, converted into a tool: it can be used to shoot, attract enemies, or defend itself. The main idea of ​​the game is a lie. A hero can tell the truth or deceive, and what he becomes depends on this: humanity is manifested not in actions for the sake of profit, but in the ability to sacrifice the truth for the sake of another. This affects the ending and how relationships with key characters unfold. Separately, it is worth noting that the world of the game is filled with references to a fairy tale, but presented in a dark way: there is a puppeteer’s workshop, and the question of what it means to be real. Different endings depend on how honestly the hero treated the people around him. For fans of the genre, this is a rare attempt to combine serious mechanics with a parable. Visually, the project is reminiscent of the Belle Époque: elegant facades, graceful automata and gloomy streets where beauty coexists with cruelty. For lovers of demanding action games, this is one of the most notable games of recent years.
