Hello Neighbor 2 continues the story about the suspicious neighbor, but now the action becomes more open. The player is a journalist who is investigating the disappearance of Mr. Peterson and at the same time suspects that he himself is being followed by something strange. The world looks cartoonish, but what happens in it is childish: there are locked houses, basements and a creature that does not leave the hero unattended. The main feature is an opponent who learns. He remembers where the player is hiding, how he enters the house and what routes he takes, and next time he places the trap there. Because of this, one and the same situation cannot be handled according to a once memorized scheme: you have to change tactics and deceive expectations. In addition to stealth, there are puzzles and exploration: to get into closed spaces, you need to find objects, keys and workarounds. The town is populated by characters, each of whom has their own quirks and small stories, and observing them sometimes gives clues. It’s also worth noting that the game has a tracking system: the enemy remembers the hero’s routes and sets traps exactly where you were hiding before. This forces you to constantly change your approach and use unexpected ways. For the stealth puzzle genre, this behavior is rare. The project does not try to be a horror film and rather works on suspense. For those who like to poke around in other people's houses and figure out a confusing story, this is an interesting option, especially for playing in a group.
