God of War (2022) is a third-person action adventure game, both a continuation of the previous part and a new step in the history of Kratos. A Spartan warrior and his son live in the world of northern myths, where winter gives way to the enmity of the gods. In addition to the main line, there are tasks for comrades: each of them has a separate story and their own motives. The plot revolves around Atreus: a teenager seeks answers about his origins, and his father tries to keep him from making mistakes. The characters' relationships develop through conversations during hikes, which makes even a routine road seem meaningful. The world of the northern lands is open to exploration: lakes, caves and abandoned villages hide chests and challenges. Combat has become more diverse: the Leviathan axe, Blades of Chaos, shield and partner work as a single system, and opponents require different approaches. Arenas, puzzles, and hidden areas encourage exploration, while side quests lead to stand-alone stories. Difficulty settings and test modes allow you to choose the load, and weapons are pumped to high levels. Technically, the game is made carefully: transitions between worlds occur without a loading screen, and the light, snow and water look convincing. The Valhalla expansion framed the final chapter as a challenge in the spirit of endless halls. The Valhalla expansion brought an end to Kratos' story and became a separate challenge. The music and fight staging enhance every encounter, and the camera never lets up for a second. Even quiet scenes look like scenes from a big movie. For players who love strong fights and family drama, this saga remains one of the best.
