Far Cry 3 takes you to the Rook Island archipelago, where the tropical sun blurs the line between civilization and madness. Instead of the planned vacation, a group of tourists falls into the hands of a gang led by the unbalanced Vaas Montenegro. Together with the hero, his loved ones are drawn into this story, and each of them gradually changes. Jason Brody escapes captivity and gradually turns from an ordinary guy into a man who has less and less in common with his old life. The island is divided between pirates and a local tribe, and the hero helps some and hunts others. Crafting and hunting form a separate system: skins are used to make wallets and equipment, and herbs are used to make medicine. The money is spent on weapons and attachments. The island lives by its own rules, and local residents are wary of visitors. The open world is full of activities: outposts, towers, hunting animals and collecting herbs. Stealth is encouraged, and quietly liberating a camp without being shot is considered a special achievement. The antagonists here speak beautifully and convincingly, which is why their words sometimes get stuck in your head for a long time. Side characters like Vaas and Citra have long been quoted, but the plot keeps your attention until the very end. Co-op and modifications extended the life of the project for years. Individual episodes of the series develop the ideas of the third part, and fan mods maintain interest in the island to this day. Modders have added graphical improvements and new modes, making the game look fresh years later. For anyone who loves colorful villains and free agency, this island remains a classic.
