Chaos League

American football, elves, orcs and vampires on one field - this is what Chaos League (Лига Хаоса) looks like, a parody of serious sports. The rules are taken from an adaptation of American football: teams score points within ten minutes, and up to nine players take to the field at a time. The task is the same - to carry the ball over the line, but the methods here are different, including magic and brute force. In addition to matches, the game allows you to manage a team like a manager: recruit players, treat injuries, select a squad to suit the opponent’s playing style and develop the club. Between these two layers is the role part: fighters gain experience, grow in characteristics and acquire new skills, and coaching decisions affect who the team will become in a season. Humor is scattered throughout: in the descriptions of teams, names of techniques, comments and in the way the athletes themselves look. Sometimes a match is lost not because of the class of players, but because the chosen tactics are completely unsuitable for the enemy, and this balance of strategy and absurdity is the main charm of the project. It is also worth noting that the teams differ not only in their names: each has its own set of available creatures, its own weaknesses and its own way of playing the game. Matches last exactly ten minutes, so the score changes frequently, and replacing players immediately after a goal is scored allows you to quickly change tactics. For fans of unusual sports, this is a godsend. The game was released in the mid-2000s and remained niche, but made with love. For those who are tired of serious sports simulators and want something ridiculous, but with real mechanics, Chaos League is a rare and pleasant exception.
