Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts is a hunting simulator that relies not on gunfights, but on patience and preparation. The player will have to work in four different areas of North America, and each has its own animals. The mentors are four experienced hunters: Wade Middleton, Jim and Ralph Shockey and Vicki Cianciarulo, each with their own advice and way of doing things. In forests, plains and mountains you need to track prey, read tracks, take into account the wind and not make noise. In the southeast there is a huge boar nicknamed Hogzilla, in the southwest - pronghorn and deer named Gray Ghost, in the northeast - caribou, in the northwest - Roosevelt elk and grizzly bear. New areas open only after local rare animals can be obtained. The Arsenal allows you to choose a rifle, bow or shotgun, and the distance and style of hunting depends on this. Many animals are timid: upon noticing a person or hearing a shot, they instantly disappear, so a position has to be chosen in advance. Predators behave differently - a wounded bear is quite capable of rushing at a hunter, and then everything is decided by composure and accuracy. Posture and breathing when shooting are also taken into account: haste leads to a miss, and an accurate shot from a long distance requires endurance. The degree of detection depends on the wind and sound, so it is often more profitable to bypass the animal and wait for a better moment than to chase it across the entire area. Successful hunts reward you with experience and unlock better equipment, which gradually expands your arsenal. Caution, calculation and one good shot are the three components of success. The game appreciates the patient and does not forgive fuss.
