Brotato is a shooter where you control a potato with a variety of guns. You have to fight with alien creatures, and the gameplay is based on elements of a bagel with short runs. The controls are simple: movement, automatic shooting, and attention goes to assembly and prioritization. Due to the short runs, the game drags on almost imperceptibly. Locations are procedurally generated, and each run lasts no more than half an hour. Waves of enemies come one after another, and between them time is given to buy weapons and upgrades. A short respite is given between waves, and at this time it is decided what is more important: a new gun, an additional level, or a useful item. Prices and selection of products vary from race to race. The hero's weapon can be anything: from pistols and shotguns to exotic devices that shoot in several directions at once. Assemblies are assembled from six slots, and characteristics such as speed, armor and luck change the behavior of the potato. Difficulty levels change the density of enemies and the health of potatoes, and challenges offer unusual conditions. Unlocked achievements give you a reason to try each character. New characters are unlocked, and each has its own bonuses and limitations. Wins and losses are added up in statistics, and the community competes to complete the most difficult levels.
