Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3 is a continuation of the cult turn-based RPG, where the player is entrusted with a small squad of bright personalities: each party member has his own character, history and abilities, and each is important for tactics. There is a spacious open world of the Forgotten Realms to explore. The plot is not a direct continuation of the previous part, but at the center of the story are illithids - mind flayers, in whose captivity the hero is in the prologue. The mechanical basis of the project is the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons. Before the campaign, a character is created: fifteen races with their own characteristics or ready-made heroes with a written biography and starting skills. The squad can accommodate four, but as it progresses it is replenished with new companions. The key difference from its predecessors is completely turn-based battles instead of a tactical pause: you control each fighter personally, and the environment and partners actively participate in the battle. Weapons and attacks are enhanced by fire and poison; Spill oil across the battlefield, shoot a fiery arrow, and your opponents will burst into flames. Stealth allows you to avoid battle altogether: extinguish torches and candles, slide through dark corners past patrols, cover the area with the Blackout spell - and the enemy will lose visibility. Commit a quiet murder or go unnoticed - the gameplay is varied and encourages any tactical decisions.
