Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition is an expanded version of a great role-playing game where elves, humans, lizards and undead are huddled together in one squad. Even the fan-favorite Rivellon was noticeably redesigned by the developers, and the entire game was reassembled. The re-release was a free update for owners of the original, which not everyone appreciated at the time. The project was completely reworked: the dialogues were rewritten, the companions were re-voiced, and the third part of the adventure received new scenes and logical endings. Work on bugs is visible in small things, including the interface and battle balance. Quests and dialogues have become clearer: dead-end branches have disappeared, and some of the companions’ stories have been completely rewritten. The balance of battles has also been improved, including the final battles. The picture has become closer to realism, and there is nothing superfluous on the screen: the camera, panels and tips look neat. Turn-based battles remain deep; altitude, elements and surface conditions decide the outcome of skirmishes no less than the characteristics of the heroes. The elements work in tandem: the ground flooded with water turns into ice, and the poisonous fog is set on fire. You can play alone or with four people, and the “Solo” mode allows you to assemble a party of two fighters without spending points on companions. A special emphasis is placed on freedom: almost any problem can be solved by force, cunning or conversation. The freedom to steal is especially pleasing: you can steal from almost any character, and the world will remember it. For those who miss thoughtful role-playing games with dozens of hours of text, this edition is perfect.
