Yanya Caballista: City Skater

Yanya Caballista: City Skater takes place in a futuristic city that has been turned into a giant skate park. Railings, ramps, roofs and passages are connected into a single space, and you can ride almost anywhere you can push off. There are seven characters, each with their own skills and skating style, as well as their own voice in story scenes. The levels differ not only in geometry, but also in their setting: from neon blocks to industrial zones. The multiplayer mode allows you to compete with other players not only for the result, but also for the entertainment of the ride. The controls are designed for precise handling of the board: tricks require preparation, and landing requires the correct angle. The city is designed in such a way that an experienced player can put together a long route of jumping across the entire location, and it almost feels like a journey. It is also worth noting that the plot is presented through short scenes, and the characters talk to each other - albeit with a minimum of text, but due to this the atmosphere of the city becomes denser. There are search and speed tasks, as well as competitions with other skaters. Levels open gradually, and each new area adds new ways to travel. It is also worth noting that timed tasks force you to look for short routes, and not just collect tricks in a row. The game was released with an unusual control accessory, which was a bold decision for its time. Today she is remembered as an example of an experiment: not always convenient, but curious and charming in its own way.
