Warm Snow

Warm Snow is an action movie with roguelike elements, in which the hero Bi-an sets out to understand the nature of “warm snow.” In the twenty-seventh year of the Lunu era, an anomaly appears on the island: snow that does not cool, but burns, and people around gradually lose their minds. You can find the truth in this chaos only in battle, moving forward time after time. Battles are based on combinations: the hero has a set of techniques and styles, as well as the ability to collect relics and skills that change the style of play. Races go from one zone to another, and after death, progress is partially carried over, so each new attempt starts a little stronger than the previous one. A special charm of the game is the combination of Chinese mythology and action: the enemies look unusual, and the bosses require analysis of patterns, rather than a mindless onslaught. As the races progress, fragments of history are revealed, and at the same time it becomes clearer what is happening to the island. Separately, it is worth noting that the game has a build editor and many items: combinations of skills affect the fighting style no less than weapons. Bosses require attention to animations, not just high damage. For the genre, it's the right balance between challenge and fun. For fans of roguelikes, the Warm Snow offers a good combination of pace and variability: there is something to strive for and something to experiment with. The battles are fast-paced, and failures are not annoying - they can always be justified by a new attempt.
