VGA Golf

VGA Golf is a golf simulator where the main value is online competition. You can play over a local network and via the Internet, and a party can accommodate up to sixteen participants, and up to four people can gather at one computer. This focus on live opponents makes the project unusual: here it is important not so much to play perfectly as to play better than your neighbor in the table. The visual style is inspired by console games of the nineties: low-poly characters and simple landscapes create a recognizable nostalgic atmosphere. The rules correspond to real golf: counting shots, choosing a club, wind and terrain affect the trajectory of the ball. In addition to online matches, there is a single-player campaign with a set of goals and a co-op, where you can go through the field with a friend. This allows you to practice your shots and understand the mechanics before going against experienced players online. It is also worth noting that in online games you can choose the game format and the number of holes, adjusting the match to the time of the participants. The single-player campaign is built on goals: to complete the field with a limit on hits or accurate hits. For golf, this is a variety that many simulators lack. The project is small and niche, but for those who love golf and want to compete with people rather than the computer, it remains an enjoyable option. Simple graphics are a plus here: the game does not distract from the process.
