Tony Hawk's Project 8

Tony Hawk's Project 8 is part of a skateboarding series where the player needs to make it to the eight best skaters in the world. The rating is key here: every completed trick, task and victory in the competition moves the hero higher in the table, and with him new sponsors and platforms are opened. Progress is felt literally on every descent. The main technical highlight is the “Nail the Trick” system: in flight, you can slow down time and assign kicks manually, assembling the trick as a structure. Because of this, experienced players can achieve combinations that are not found in other skateboarding games. In addition to the main line, there is free skating, where sections and spots are laid out along the streets, as well as competitions and tasks from characters. City streets look alive: passers-by react to falls, and the police may be interested in broken property. It’s also worth noting that the game has competitions and tasks from real skaters, and the rating is updated as you progress. The streets are connected into a single space, which allows you to build your own routes. This was a notable attempt for the series to bring the city to life. For those who love skateboarding and want to feel the progression from beginner to star, the Project 8 delivers exactly that dynamic. The game is demanding, but rewards accuracy and knowledge of the levels.
