Sonic Frontiers

Sonic Frontiers is a 3D adventure about Sonic, who again interferes with the plans of Dr. Egman. This time the authors moved away from linear levels and opened up entire islands for the player. Star islands take up a lot of space, and you can run around them freely. Along the way you come across the ruins of a former civilization, abandoned mechanisms and local inhabitants. Where to go is decided by the player himself, and not by the level schedule. Running remained the main movement, but melee techniques and sliding along rails were added to it. Some areas are moved into cyberspace, where the levels look different. Collected items and points are used to improve abilities. You can move quickly around the islands, and overcome obstacles at speed. Abilities are developed through collected items and victories over local guards. Some of the dungeons resemble the levels of previous parts. The game does not require a strict order of actions. Running on rails and walls opens up shortcuts. Some of the tests require you to complete a section in a limited time. The plot is told in short scenes and conversations. The open islands are connected to each other according to the plot. Leveling up comes from collected points and items. Side quests add challenges. Weather affects visibility. Music changes with speed. Testing requires speed and precision. Abilities improve for what you collect. Side quests add challenges. The weather changes visibility. The plot is presented in short scenes. Anyone who loves speed and space will love the game.
