Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is a tactical stealth action game set in Edo-era Japan. A conspiracy is being prepared against the new shogun, who has united the lands. Each hero acts in real time, and it is important to accurately calculate the moment of impact. Failing a mission almost always means a fight that is difficult to get out of. A squad of several heroes is sent to deal with the conspirators. Each fighter has his own skills: a sniper, a thief, a samurai and a trap specialist work together. Levels can be passed through several routes: through the roof, dungeon or open courtyard. The map gives an idea of ​​patrols and visibility. It’s better not to raise the alarm, so the corpses are hidden and the lights are turned off in time. The levels are spacious, and the path to the goal always has several solutions. You can complete the task quietly, or you can make noise, but you will have to deal with the consequences. The heroes' abilities are combined: one distracts, the other removes the sentry, the third removes traces. Some tasks require you to remove all enemies at once, otherwise the alarm will be raised. Savings and restarts are the norm here, because one mistake ruins the entire plan. The add-on added a separate campaign, and the difficulty is adjusted manually. The add-on tells about another squad and adds a campaign with new tasks. For anyone who likes to plan and count seconds, this fortress is suitable. The difficulty is customizable, and the game is known as an example of the tactical stealth genre. The developers later released a similar project about samurai and demons.
