Sassy Girl

Sassy Girl - a young man, smart but exhausted by life, gets an unexpected chance: a magazine in trouble hires him to turn things around. The task is simple in words and difficult in deeds, and the hero has nowhere to retreat. The editorial office turns out to be a den of intrigue, where each employee is a separate universe with her own ambitions, grievances and secrets. You have to figure out who wants what and choose which side to take while other people's combinations are weaving around. The story is told through dialogues and decisions: the remark determines how the work day will turn out and what others will think. The personal line gets mixed up with the career one, and behind the gloss and rudeness there is a story about growth, redemption and complex relationships between people. The world of glamor is presented without embellishment: laughter, tears, squabbles and the sudden vulnerability of those who seem strong. Each heroine adds her own piece to the overall picture, and the ending depends on what connections were preserved until the last chapter. Business conversations alternate with everyday scenes, and part of the plot is revealed in passing: over coffee, in a smoking room or on the set. The hero’s appearance and his reputation influence how they will talk to him further, so rudeness is sometimes more expensive than an error in the report. Each chapter presents a choice, and some decisions close the line with one of the employees long before the finale. There won't be enough time for everyone, so you'll have to decide who to help and who to leave to figure it out on their own. For those who want to understand human relationships without shooting and chases, but with the intrigues of the editors.
