LIMBO

LIMBO is a 2D platformer where a boy searches for his missing sister in a dark forest. There is not a single line of text in the game, and this is part of the design: the story is told through the environment and silhouettes. The puzzles are based on physics: carts, ropes, magnets and water. Death is a common thing here - spikes, saws and water kill you on the first touch, and the saves are arranged in such a way that you have to go through the area again. The design is done in gray tones, and the sound gets on your nerves stronger than any monsters. Some levels require complete silence, because the steps give away the hero. In addition to the main line, the game contains rare fireflies and eggs, for which they give achievements. Puzzles don't tell you the solution, so trial and error is common. Death does not roll back the world, but returns it to the last point, and this makes the passage easier. The sound gets on your nerves more than any monster, and the light remains dim until the end.
