Killing Floor

Killing Floor takes place in the darkest corners of Britain, where a cloning experiment on “super-soldiers” was recently carried out. Something went wrong, and as a result, creatures known as mutants appeared. Cloning was supposed to ensure the independence of the state, but the results were completely different creatures. Units land on maps where there are shops and narrow passages. As a co-op horror first-person shooter, the project is built on waves: the group fights off, then gets a short break and buys from a merchant. Money is given for murders, so saving money is not always possible. The waves become denser, and between them time is given for repairs and the purchase of ammunition. Opponents are divided by type: some slowly advance, others crawl along walls, and others know how to disappear. Each player class is responsible for its own: demolitionist, medic or sniper. Classes are upgraded separately, so over time the player finds a comfortable role in the team. The merchant appears between waves, and the purchase decides the outcome of the next fight. The game grew out of a modification for another famous game, and then received an independent life and sequels. The community supports the servers with its maps. Some modes change the rules, and the difficulty adds new opponents. For anyone looking for a strong co-op with a dark atmosphere, this is the night to go for. The continuations of the series came out later and developed the idea in their own way, but the first part remains recognizable. The difficulty increases over time, and leveling is maintained between sessions.
