The atmosphere is oppressive from the first minutes, and the music and sound emphasize the player’s loneliness. You have to figure out what is happening on your own, since there are almost no clues. The player comes to his senses in the forester's hut, where he has to sit down at the table and play a strange card game according to someone else's rules. The deck is made up of creatures that really die, and some of the mechanics are related to victims and bones. Death is part of the mechanics here: fallen creatures turn into a resource, and the player himself often becomes part of someone else's deck. You have to learn the rules on the go, since there are almost no hints, and the cost of a mistake is high. Between games you can look around: candles, shelves and objects on the table suggest that not everything is so simple here. Multiple puzzles lead to the solution to a larger mystery than defeating the owner of the hut. The plot changes appearance several times, so it is not worth describing it in detail. Even experienced players still find additional modes and secrets. In addition to the cards, there is a room with riddles, where candles, thorns and other furnishings are important. Sometimes the best solution is suggested not by logic, but by a careful examination of the furniture.
