Gears 5

Gears 5 continues the story of Kate Diaz, along with JD Phoenix, Marcus Phoenix and Delmont Walker. The squad has to deal with the Swarm, who has subjugated the robots of the Colony. The campaign can be completed alone or with friends, up to three people. The levels sometimes lead to open spaces where the path is freely chosen, but the base remains linear. Between chapters, the heroes find themselves in new regions and change tactics. The arsenal is wide: futuristic guns, grenades and melee weapons. Finishing moves require skill and attention to the situation. In a separate mode, the squad holds the defense against the waves, and in online matches the sides defend and attack. In online matches, fighters are divided by class, and this changes tactics. Defense in wave mode is based on fortifications and turrets. Weather and environment affect visibility in certain chapters. Some of the cards are familiar from previous parts of the series. Battles have become denser, and shelters are being destroyed by heavy fire. Enemy vehicles can be captured and used against the owners. Some of the maps are reminiscent of previous parts of the series, but the landscapes are noticeably more diverse. Weapon upgrades are unlocked for points, which are given for fulfilling conditions. Open areas allow you to choose the order in which objects are cleared. Swarm robots appear constantly, so ammo is consumed quickly. The settings allow you to simplify the battle if you only need the plot. Opponents become stronger, and weapons have to be changed more often. Online matches require coordination, so half the success depends on the team. The game is suitable for anyone who likes team shootouts with cover.
