Description
FIFA 2005 is part of a series that introduced full-fledged coaching careers for the first time, and it changed the perception of the game. Instead of a set of individual matches, the player began to lead the club over a long distance: he selected suitable players, monitored finances, worked with youth and was responsible for the result to the management. One bad season could end in resignation, so you had to think about more than just the next match.
The matches also became more accurate: passes and ball handling looked more believable, and shots from set pieces received a separate system, where you set the force and spin yourself. It became possible to create your own player and place him in any team - for many this became the first way to express themselves on the field.
Improvements also concerned the atmosphere: comments, the sound of the stands and the presentation of matches tried to imitate television broadcasts. Companies gathered in online and local tournaments, and tables and statistics gradually acquired details that were of interest to lovers of numbers.
It’s also worth remembering your career with national teams: successful work in the club allows you to receive an invitation to the national team and play in the qualifying round. The budget and transfers are limited, so you have to manage money carefully, and management requirements become stricter over time. This model draws you into the game for a long time: it’s quite possible to play a dozen seasons with one save.
The game dates back to an era when the series was just learning to be serious. Today, FIFA 2005's graphics feel retro, but her career and season structure still work - which is where many people started tinkering with tactics in earnest.
