FIFA 09

FIFA 09 continued the course of updating the game, and first of all, it added to the sensations of the match. Players have become more responsive, passes and shots are read more accurately, and the goalkeeper’s behavior is no longer a source of constant criticism. At the same time, for the first time, the weather fully came into play: on a winter evening steam comes from the players’ mouths, in the rain the speed drops and the ball behaves differently, and the grass looks different depending on the conditions. The system that improves the teams’ form based on real events of the week deserves special mention: the results of the live season affect the characteristics of the players in the game, and this adds dynamics to the season. A career requires attention to detail: the composition, fatigue, transfers and mood of the players add up to the overall picture, and the trust of the management depends on the results. The Be A Pro mode allows you to become one player and live the season on his behalf: instead of managing the entire team, you have to take the right positions and earn the trust of the coach. For those who like to collect clubs, there is a club management mode with a budget and an academy. In addition to the main modes, there are also plenty of little things: local tournaments, cups, friendly matches and training tasks for beginners. The difficulty is flexibly adjusted, so the game does not turn into a punishment either for children or for those who want a fair challenge. We should also praise the presentation: the sound of the stands, comments and replays contribute to the atmosphere, which is why even a single match looks like a real meeting. The cover was occupied by Ronaldinho, and overall the FIFA 09 came out as a very balanced part of the series. Although the graphics have since aged, football still plays nicely to this day, and on computers its popularity was fueled by fan patches.
