Fallout: New Vegas

Fallout: New Vegas is an open-world role-playing adventure where you can play as anyone: from a mercenary to a diplomat and a rogue. Formally, this is a spin-off, but the engine is taken from the third part, and many of the details and characters came from the canceled Obsidian project. It all starts with an interrogation with a doctor, who explains the basics, and then the road leads through small settlements and large factions. The hero is a courier who is left for dead in the Mojave Desert. Having woken up, he goes to look for the offenders, and along the way he is drawn into the confrontation between the New California Republic, the Legion, the residents of New Vegas and the mysterious Mr. House. Companions differ in their ideas about what is right: a robot sniper, a former military woman and a cyborg dog respond to actions in different ways. Freedom of decision is felt at every step: any side can be supported, betrayed, or brought together, and the ability to persuade sometimes saves you from a whole shootout. Leveling up your skills unlocks dialogue lines, access to terminals and lockpicking. Weapons require maintenance, so the repair skill will be as useful as accuracy, and homemade cartridges are cheaper than store-bought ones. The wasteland hides many stories: small settlements, experiments with pre-war technology and additions that send the hero to a canyon, to a space station and to a closed resort. Fans of honest hardcore will find a separate mode with hunger, thirst and sleep. The additions expanded the map and added stories about the Sierra Madre, the Big Mountain and another refuge, changing the fate of the courier. For those who value the consequences of decisions over graphics, this desert remains the best in the series.
