FaceBreaker is a fighting game in which punches to the face have become not only a technique, but also the main joke. Opponents enter the ring with a deliberately exaggerated appearance, and from an accurate hit, the face is literally deformed, which sets the whole tone for what is happening. The mechanics are designed to be simple: strikes, blocks, grabs and countermeasures are laid out according to buttons, and between them you need to keep the tempo. The longer the streak lasts, the stronger the fighter becomes, so the fight turns into a game of anticipation - whoever breaks the opponent’s rhythm first, pushes through the round. There are a lot of characters, and each has their own signature moves and character, which is visible already in their appearance in the ring. There are also modes for several people, where short battles replace each other, and fans get a dose of ridiculous situations. It is also worth noting that in addition to individual battles, there is a campaign where the hero sequentially goes against strong opponents, and between fights he is shown skits with jokes. There is also a fighter editor: you can assemble a character to your liking and take it to the ring against famous figures. The controls do not require memorizing long combinations, so a game with a friend begins immediately and without explanation. There are also simple short matches with conditions like “winner stays”, which works well in the company. There is no realism here at all, but that is not the goal. FaceBreaker is a cartoon action movie with bright colors and deliberately stupid humor. For an evening in company, when you want to laugh and wave your fists without complex combinations, it is perfect.
