EA Sports UFC 2

The first damn thing in the series from EA was not lumpy, but it was the second part that put everything in its place. The EA Sports UFC 2 added depth to what seemed simple in its debut: cage fights became longer, competition for position became more difficult, and knockouts no longer looked like prepared scenes. A separate system is responsible for the physics of strikes, so a hit to the jaw, temple or body gives a different effect, and an accurate strike at the right moment can end the fight instantly. There is no plot here - there is a career for a created fighter and one big goal: to rise in the rankings and take the belt. You have to alternate training camps, choose camps and mentors, monitor fatigue and select an arsenal to suit your opponent’s style. All fighters, by the way, are adjusted according to dozens of characteristics, and a “ground master” with poor striking technique loses completely differently than a “puncher” without takedown protection. In addition to the career, there is Ultimate Team, where a team of fighter cards is assembled, online matches, tournaments and a regime set for fans of spectacular fights. The roster includes more than two hundred athletes from different weight divisions - from heavyweights to lightweights, including fighters from MMA leagues from different countries. Particular attention was paid to knockouts: hits to different parts of the head give different effects, and spectacular finishes to the fight come naturally if you catch your opponent making a mistake. Damage and fatigue models work in tandem - by the fifth round, fighters move and hit completely differently than in the first, and this noticeably changes tactics as the fight progresses. Arenas, ring announcer announcements and fight presentations look like real television. A special pleasure is the knockout mode, designed for spectacular showdowns for two. EA Sports UFC 2 is a strong simulator that knows how to be harsh and does not forgive inattention: pushing forward without a plan ends very quickly here.
