Dungeon Siege - the kingdom of Ebb is suffering from an invasion of evil spirits, and people have been holding back the hordes coming from the dungeons for many years. There is a dark force behind all this, and the hero will have to deal with it. Patrols roam the dungeons in circles, so it is better not to mess with them unnecessarily. Heroes develop as they fight, and some skills are unlocked only after a certain level. This is a classic role-playing game with a top-down view: a squad is assembled from mercenaries, and the battle takes place in real time with the ability to pause and give orders. Skeletons in armor, orcs and spiders climb from all sides, and without normal equipment the squad dies in the very first catacombs. Individual dungeons open as the story progresses, and they contain opponents that are more serious than local trifles. The catacombs are dark, so torches and light spells will be as useful as swords and chain mail. Leveling up follows the usual pattern: warrior, mage, shooter and battle mage, each with its own branch of skills. Weapons and armor drop from chests and are removed from the dead, so equipment is constantly updated. Experience is given both for killings and for completing assignments, so peaceful missions are also profitable. In addition to the plot, there are optional tasks from residents, and for them they give useful things. The world is connected by roads and settlements, where they trade, give quests and talk about local troubles. Some of the dungeons are optional, but this is where the best things and rare finds lie. A full squad moves slowly, but lasts longer in battle. Traders are rare, so it’s better to sell excess goods in cities rather than carry them around with you. For those who love good old team trips through the catacombs and don’t mind counting their inventory.
