City Zoomer

City Zoomer is a first-person adventure runner in which the main character is a charming anime girl. She runs through the city, and the race is not as simple as it seems: on the way there are obstacles, pursuers and places where it is better not to go. The mechanics are based on speed and agility: you need to jump, dodge and choose a route in time, and mistakes cost you a fall or loss of momentum. As you progress, new sections and episodes are revealed, and the story is told through short scenes. The controls are simple, the races are short, so it’s convenient to play during breaks. The design is bright, the music is cheerful, the style is anime. The run is not interrupted, so mistakes are immediately visible: the wrong choice of lane - and the pace is lost along with precious meters. Obstacles are solved in different ways; sometimes it is easier to slip through a narrow gap than to jump over boxes. Between levels, short scenes are shown that make up the story, and not just a series of races. The controls are simple, but in later episodes it requires attention to timing: the jump is made at the last moment. It’s convenient to replay levels, comparing your own results and finding cleaner routes along familiar streets. At the end of each level the result is shown, so you want to run it again and get out of the minus time. Some of the obstacles are presented as a riddle: at first it is not clear where the passage is, and then it finds itself. The project is small and designed for quick runs.
