Battlefield 5 is the fifteenth installment in the first-person shooter series and a return to the Second World War. Historical accuracy is sacrificed here for the convenience of the player: handling the weapon has become noticeably more pleasant, which is why the shooting resembles more of an arcade than a documentary. The single chapters are short, but each one shows different people: a tank driver, a pilot, a resistance fighter and a soldier in the desert. Fights are taking place in different parts of the world: snowy Norway and Normandy give way to the deserts of Africa and the Pacific islands. The maps are designed for different modes, and the fortifications that players dig with a shovel gradually change the terrain of the battle. The “Operations” mode goes on for days and is divided into stages: if the defense holds, the next part of the scenario starts with new tasks. There are plenty of innovations: a supply of ammunition and treatment had to be obtained in battle, equipment is divided into classes with special shells, and wounded comrades require someone to run up with a first aid kit. There are also plot-driven war stories about people from different fronts. A group of four players can complete special missions against enemy waves, which is great for playing with friends. Individual modes like Firestorm and cooperative missions against the computer expanded the range of activities, and updates added maps and techniques. A battle for one point lasting a whole match is a common thing here. Modifications and light cosmetics make the squad recognizable, and the appearance editor allows you to create your own soldier. Anyone who loves big front-line battles and wants to see a familiar war from a new angle is worth a try.
